Mary Giles

Tenor Drummer

Mary resides in Christchurch, NZ and has been a member of the band since 2019 when the band travelled to Edinburgh.

Mary joined the NZ pipe band scene when she immigrated from Massachusetts, USA in 2002. Mary joined the Riccarton and Districts pipe band as a novice piper but was asked to step in as a tenor drummer. She went on to join the Scottish Society of NZ pipe band where she played both tenor and Bass. Mary competed with the band at the World Pipe Band champs in Glasgow in 2019 and regularly at competitions in both NZ and Australia.
