Ewan resides in Ranfurly NZ, and has been a member of the band since 2009. Ewan started learning the pipes when just eight years old. His first band was the Maniototo Highland Pipe Band, which he joined in 1965.  He has also played in the Balclutha and Christchurch Metropolitan bands. 

An enthusiastic tutor, some of his pupils have gone on to advanced band work.
