Bevin Joyce

Bevin resides in Oamaru NZ, and has been a member of the band since 2022 when the band travelled to Edinburgh. Bevin started learning the bagpipe at age 12 in Alexandra, Central Otago. He played in the local band while at school. When he started work, his job took him around the South Island, giving him the opportunity to play in other bands, including Wyndham and Districts and the Palmerston Pipe Band.
In 1981, Bevin began a 40-year career as a dairy farmer near Oamaru. At the same time, he joined the North Otago HPB and has been a playing member since then. Bevin has also been involved with the South Canterbury HPB since 2007 and attended the World Pipe Band Championships with them in 2009.
